Explore Alaska’s Thrilling Wildlife and Maritime History in This Unique Tour!
Discover the perfect blend of scenic beauty, wildlife, and history on this comprehensive Juneau excursion.
All our Alaska lighthouse tours offer complimentary and convenient pickup from Downtown Juneau before taking a short narrated drive to Auke Bay, where our boats are waiting for us. Guests who have their own transportation are welcome to meet us at Auke Bay.
Once on board our custom-built catamaran, your whale watching and wildlife viewing experience begins! Sit back and enjoy the dry, heated cabin or step outside and get some fresh air and unobstructed photography opportunities. Either way, help yourselves to free snacks and refreshments as you take in the landscapes of the Chilkat Mountains and Lynn Canal.
Keep your eyes out for the humpback whales, Steller sea lions, Dall’s porpoise, and bald eagles that frequent Juneau’s waters. Our experienced captains and guides know Juneau’s waters, and the wildlife that inhabits them, incredibly well and will make sure your tour sees as much as possible.
The highlight of your adventure is a visit to the historic Sentinel Island Lighthouse, standing since 1902. After our boat docks, take a scenic walk with panoramic views of Lynn Canal before exploring this iconic beacon of maritime heritage. Climb the lighthouse tower and imagine the isolated life of the “wickies” who once called this remote outpost home. Our guides and interpretive signs will answer any questions you may have about the lighthouse and its grounds.
After a short trip to Adlersheim Dock, you will board your transportation and drive back to Downtown Juneau, but not before a stop at the Brotherhood Bridge viewpoint for spectacular views of Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau’s most famous scenic attraction. At the conclusion of the tour, we provide dropoffs at each cruise ship dock and a central location.
